Did you know:
-that the first bathing area in Kraljevica was built
back in 1896?
- that Kraljevica had a health sanatorium in the past
due to its comfortable climate?
- that in the 17th century, Kraljevica was owned by
the Zrinksi family, who built two castles there?
- that there is currently a clinic for the treatment
of allergies in Kraljevica?
Kraljevica
is situated on a gentle slope on the Vinodolski Channel
at the entrance to Bakar Bay, in an area of special
climatic characteristics. Though it is considered
to be among the youngest of towns in Kvarner, it quickly
became a port, maritime and shipbuilding centre of
the Adriatic, and in the 19th century it became a
well known summer resort with luxurious villas and
bathing areas. The sandy and pebble beaches on the
Oštro peninsula are the centres for tourism, while
the nearby Uvala Scott and Dubno Bay stand out for
their exceptionally pretty beaches, while an auto
camp is situated nearby in the pine woods. Kraljevica
is an easily accessible destination, and due to the
special climate, is recommended for families with
children and persons with respiratory or allergy problems.
In addition to the beaches and varied gastronomy offer,
Kraljevica also has much to offer in sports and entertainment:
sailing regattas, diving courses, water sports, sports
pitches and playing fields and summer manifestations
and folklore events.
Close to major centres, accommodation
capacities are available in hotels, motels, private
accommodations and auto camps and many opportunities
are available for recreation, nautical tourism and
underwater sports. This combined with the rich cultural
and entertainment offer make Kraljevica an attractive
tourism destination.
Tourists can also enjoy many cultural and
religious events:
-cultural manifestations in the FRANKOPAN castle
-summer events on the stage at the Zrinski castle
-summer festivals on the waterfronts of Kraljevica,
Bakarac and Črišnjevi
-summer and the well-known winter CARNIVAL in Kraljevica
